- Prep a variety of toppings/mix-ins, offering your guests options for making a create a totally customized guacamole.
- Provide each guest with a bowl to mix their guacamole – or at least a separate plate. This can get messy!
Guacamole Bar Toppings Ideas
Here are some toppings/mix-in ideas for your DIY guacamole bar:
- Fire-roasted corn
- Chopped jalapeno or serrano pepper
- Chopped tomatoes
- Chopped red onion
- Grape halves (trust me on this one!)
- Pomegranate arils
- Fresh lime

DIY Guacamole Bar
Yield: 6 to 8 servings
Total Time: 30 min
Make a big batch of basic guacamole, and let your party guests go wild with toppings and mix-ins. Aim for a good variety of sweet, spicy, and flavorful toppings.
Ingredients:
Basic guacamole recipe:
- 6 ripe avocados
- Juice from 2 limes
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- Dash of hot sauce or Worcestershire sauce, optional
- Lime segments
- Roasted garlic, chopped
- Chopped red onion
- Fire-roasted sweet corn
- Grape halves
- Pomegranate arils
- Chopped tomatoes
- Jalapeno peppers
- Serrano peppers
- Cilantro
- Tabasco or other hot sauce
- Worchestershire sauce
- Salt
- Garlic powder
Directions:
- Remove flesh from avocados and mash with a fork. You want the avocados to be slightly chunky, not smooth. Add other ingredients and mix well. Cover with plastic wrap until ready to eat.
- To serve, place guacamole in a large serving bowl. Place toppings in separate smaller bowls. Give each guest a larger bowl to mix guacamole ingredients together.
- Serve with tortilla chips.
